Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 championships have been achieved on hardcourt
A revitalized the Russian player claimed his first trophy for over two years with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The Russian, a former number one, has endured a torrid year, managing just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.
His varied form on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in especial - caused him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually splitting with long-term mentor his previous coach.
Presently working with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has gradually improved in the last few weeks - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents his maiden title following the Italian tournament and first on a hard court from spring of that year.
The win also means he has achieved twenty-one championships at twenty-one distinct events.
"For the first time I have attended a event with my children together, so to get a title is particularly special," commented ranked player Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my child Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his past six title deciders, featuring in Halle earlier this year.
The player's counter-punching strategy and regular emotional displays on the playing surface had caused observers to question if his skill to perform at the elite level was over.
However the 29-year-old has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and play positively, supported by an improved service.
He recovered from a break down in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, winning 4 of the final five games to go ahead.
The competitors exchanged breaks in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his initial professional championship, seized the initiative to create a third set.
He defended four early opportunities in a close third set before the champion won the break to 15 to close out the victory.
Fittingly, he secured victory with a shot at the net area, with Moutet incapable to control a return after a lengthy match.
